I know a lot of you are waiting for an explanation on the distortion so here’s a quick update. On Sunday I finally narrowed things down so the issue is now replicable and resolvable. The distortion isn’t just on our RF mics; we’re basically having problems on anything with a line level output which has helped a lot in the troubleshooting process.
Unfortunately, I’m not comfortable going into details on this just yet because I’m not sure exactly what’s causing the issue. The manufacturer’s of all the equipment involved have all been trying to help us track this down so I’m going to wait on getting into specifics until we have this whole thing figured out. The last thing I want to do right now is inadvertently paint someone or something in a bad light whether the issue is related to it or not.
I will, however, say that at this point I do know how to temporarily resolve the issue which has been an incredible find because now we can get back to operating normally. A permanent fix still eludes us, though, but hopefully we’ll narrow this down even further in the next week or so. At that point, I’ll probably be able to get into some more details. Thanks for your patience!
